What is Syllabase?
Syllabase is a free, private all-in-one academic tracker for university and college students. It tracks your courses, assignments, grades, and attendance, shows your GPA on your school's real grading scale, and forecasts exactly what you need on each final.
Is Syllabase free?
Yes — Syllabase is free while it’s in Early Access, with no credit card and no trial timer. We never sell or share your data with advertisers.
What’s free, and will it stay that way?
Syllabase is free while it’s in Early Access. As it grows, some deeper features may become part of a paid tier, and the free tier may include ads in the future. Pricing and exactly what stays free are still being finalized and may change — but we’ll always keep a meaningful free option, and we’ll share the details before anything changes. Early supporters who join during Early Access will be recognized with preferential terms if and when paid tiers arrive.
Does Syllabase show ads?
Not today — Syllabase is ad-free. If we ever add ads, they’ll be on the free tier only, non-targeted, and never based on your personal academic data; any paid tiers stay ad-free. Either way, we never sell or share your data with advertisers.
How does Syllabase calculate my GPA?
Syllabase uses your school's real grading scale — for example York's 9.0 scale, the University of Toronto's 4.0 scale, McMaster's 12-point scale, or Western's percentage system — and credit-weights your courses, so your GPA matches what your school actually reports.
Does Syllabase use AI on my grades or sell my data?
No. Syllabase never runs AI on your grades, uses no third-party trackers, and never sells or shares your data with advertisers. Your data is locked to your account, and you can export or delete it at any time.
Do I have to upload my syllabus?
Never. You enter the facts that matter — assignment dates and weights — which aren't copyrighted. There are no document uploads.
Which schools does Syllabase support?
Syllabase supports the real grading scales of universities and colleges across Canada and the US, including York, the University of Toronto, McMaster, Western, Waterloo, Guelph, Toronto Metropolitan University, Ottawa, and Laurier. US schools are supported too — MIT (on its 5.0 scale), Harvard, Yale, Princeton, UC Berkeley, and more. Don't see your school? Request it from Settings and we'll add it.
Is Syllabase an app I can install?
Yes. Syllabase is a progressive web app (PWA), so you can install it on iPhone, Android, or desktop and use it like a native app, with a home-screen icon.
