Syllabase features
Everything Syllabase does for university and college students, in one list. Free in early access, private by design, and no AI ever runs on your grades.
Grades & GPA
Live averages on your school’s real scale.
- Your school’s real GPA scale: York 9.0, U of T 4.0, McMaster 12-point, Western %, and more — credit-weighted, not a generic calculator.
- Build your own scale: Not listed? Define your grade bands and points, and your GPA uses them everywhere.
- International scales: Australia’s 7.0, India’s 10-point CGPA, and US variants (A+ = 4.33, letters-only) are built in too.
- Live course averages: Your grade updates the moment you enter a mark.
- Percentage or raw score: Type 89% or 57/64 — whichever your prof uses.
- Grade-impact chips: See how much each grade moved your average, and which one is carrying the course.
- Cumulative & term GPA: Per-term and overall, with an optional blend of your standing so far.
- Pass/Fail & Credit/No-Credit: Tracked as completion — what’s done, what’s overdue — and kept out of your GPA.
- Grade analytics: Average by assignment type, grade distribution, and GPA by term.
- One course at a time: Where you stand (with a trend line and how much is still to come), where it’s heading, and which piece of work matters most.
- Drop-the-lowest & best-N: Set a rule like “best 8 of 10 quizzes” or “drop your lowest reflection” and your average matches the syllabus exactly.
- Participation from attendance: Turn your attendance rate into your participation grade automatically — no manual entry.
Forecasting & odds
See where you’re headed, with real probabilities.
- "What do I need on the final?": The exact average you need on everything that’s left.
- Before your first grade: No marks back yet? Try a score on the next piece of work and see what you’d then need on the rest. Plain arithmetic, nothing saved.
- Scenario modelling: Set a target, type one average for everything left or try a score per item, and watch your projected final move.
- Grade odds: A simulation of your likely final and your real chance of hitting your target.
- Term forecast: Likely term and cumulative GPA, plus your odds of making the Dean’s List.
Assignments
A to-do list that leads with what’s actually due.
- Focus — your to-do list: A view that shows only what you can act on now. Readings get their own stream, and classes you just attend stay out of the way — so the list is real work, not noise.
- 15 work types: Assignments, readings, discussions, participation, quizzes, labs, papers, projects, presentations, exams, and more — each tracked and colour-coded.
- Weights, due dates & hours: Everything that matters for the grade and the workload.
- Completion-only tasks: Mark something as just-to-do (no grade) — it stays in your list and workload but never touches your average.
- Batch-add: Generate recurring work (like 10 weekly quizzes) in one step.
- Priority flags: Mark high/med/low and let the list sort itself.
- Notes on any task: Jot submission details, rubric points, or a link — open it inline from the list.
- Weight warnings: A heads-up when a course’s weights don’t add up to ~100%.
- A little reward: Confetti when you check something off.
Work sessions
An optional focus timer that knows your coursework.
- Pick, start, work through: Choose a few assignments, run a timer with optional focus-and-break blocks, switch items as you go, and check things off.
- A goal you can change: Set 60 minutes, then add 15 or 30 more (or trim it) without stopping.
- Work log & next steps: Jot notes as you work and pin “where I left off” for next time. Undo a check-off if you tap it by mistake.
- Stats: Today, this week and this term; a day streak that forgives one missed day; personal bests; a study calendar; time by course; an optional weekly goal; and milestones.
- Insights: When you do your best work, typical session length, time versus grade weight still to earn, and how your estimates compare with reality.
- Diary & weekly recap: Every past session with its notes, a shareable week in review, and a calendar file of when you actually studied.
Syllabus import
Turn a syllabus into a full course — with your own AI.
- Bring your own AI: Copy our prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini along with your syllabus, paste the result back, and Syllabase builds the course — assignments, weights, dates, and schedule.
- You review everything: Check and edit every assignment, weight, and date on screen before anything is saved.
- Never uploaded to us: No AI runs inside Syllabase, and your syllabus is never sent to our servers — the outside assistant only drafts the import for you to paste back.
Attendance
One tap per class, fair by default.
- Six states, one tap: Present, late, absent, excused, cancelled, or no class.
- Fair by default: Excused, cancelled, and no-class weeks never count against your rate.
- Rate + warnings: See your rate and get a nudge when you dip low.
- Streaks & trend heads-up: Track streaks and get flagged if you’ve missed a lot lately.
- Bulk-log: Mark a whole stretch of sessions at once.
Schedule & calendar
Your week, built automatically.
- Auto weekly timetable: Generated from your courses — grid, or a clean mobile list. Different times on different days and every-other-week labs, all handled.
- Filter by term: A future term never clutters your current one.
- Calendar with day agenda: Classes and deadlines; tap any day for its details.
- Sections, tutorials & rooms: Course sections, tutorial numbers, and rooms.
Dashboard
A plan for today, not just a list.
- Focus — what to do next: Your dashboard leads with a ranked, actionable Focus list of what to tackle next, plus how far through the week you are and a health ring for each course.
- Next-class countdown: A greeting and "starts in 35 min" for what’s next.
- Today: Today’s classes and what’s due.
- Exam countdown: Every upcoming exam, soonest first.
- Coming up: Your next deadlines with live countdowns — “in 14 days” — so you can get ahead.
- Recent activity & streak: Your latest grades and check-ins, and a habit streak (weekends forgiven).
Export & share
Your data goes wherever you do.
- Subscribe in your calendar: One private link keeps your classes and deadlines current in Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar, with a reminder the day before each deadline. Never grades. Replace it or turn it off any time.
- Add to your calendar: Or download a one-off .ics file.
- Copy to share: A clean text version of your schedule or lists.
- CSV downloads: Your grades, assignments and study time (per entry, per day or per course) for your own records.
