Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated on this scale?
On this scale, each course’s grade converts to grade points (an O is 10 on the 10-point CGPA). Your GPA is the credit-weighted average: multiply each course’s points by its credits, add them up, and divide by your total credits. Syllabase does this automatically for every course you track.
What percentage is an O?
On the scale Syllabase uses, 90% or higher is an O, worth 10 grade points.
What’s the lowest passing grade?
C (50% and up, 5 grade points) is the lowest passing band on this scale. Some programs require higher grades, so check your program’s rules.
Is this the official calculator?
No. It uses the grading scale Syllabase applies, which is based on published grading policies. Your registrar’s rules (repeated courses, pass/fail, transfer credit) always win.
